the first day back in england brings grey clouds, strong winds and small rain. this winter i visited chongqing. a city which is being rebuilt in a quite remarkable fashion. so much money is being invested in the city, on huge towering buildings and 3 story roads. but the city is poor. the people are poor. it was an overwhelming and painful experience. this is te building of a facade. an image of wealth. and what of the people?
